Atmel Track: Capacitive Touch & PIR Motion Detector Solutions on Atmel’s ARM Cortex™-M3-based Flash Microcontrollers
Atmel showcases its easy-to-use touch development platform for designing touch buttons, sliders and wheels on the SAM3 Cortex™-M3-based flash MCU family. This platform shows how engineers can easily design highly-differentiated user interfaces with Atmel touch technologies using the QTouch® Suite of development tools. In addition, Atmel will present its integrated touch software library and CAD software tool from Altium Designer® that offers designers unparalleled flexibility and expedited time-to-market. A demo based on the SAM3N-EK kit using the QT600 USB board will also be presented. Atmel will also showcase a Passive infrared (PIR) camera sensor solution using the SAM3S, a Cortex-M3-based device that is particularly well-suited for this kind of an application. Attendees will get an introduction to PIR camera technology and learn about the requirements and key features of a PIR camera application. The course will then focus on the Atmel SAM3S PIR Camera Reference Design (SAM3S-PIRRD) and explain in detail the innovative hardware design techniques that have been implemented, such as synchronous general-purpose I/O data capture without processor intervention and integrated serial resistors. The course concludes with a discussion of the performance levels achieved by the Atmel SAM3S PIR Camera Reference Design.
