Description

The SAM3S16 is a new member of the Atmel® SAM3S series microcontrollers based on the high-performance 32-bit ARM® Cortex™-M3 RISC processor.
The SAM3S16 operates at a maximum speed of 100MHz and features 1MB of flash and 128KB of SRAM. The extensive peripheral set includes a FS USB device port with embedded transceiver, HS multimedia card interface for SDIO/SD/MMC,external bus interface featuring a static memory controller connecting to SRAM, PSRAM, NOR Flash, LCD module and NAND flash, two USARTs, two UARTs, two TWIs, three SPIs, I2S, PWM timer, six 16-bit timers, RTC, six 12-bit ADCs, two 12-bit DACs and an analog comparator. The QTouch® library offers an easy way to implement buttons, wheels and sliders. The parallel data capture mode on the PIOs complements the external bus interface for data collection from external devices not compliant with standard memory read protocols, such as low-cost image sensors. Data is transferred to memory by DMA offloading the CPU. It operates from 1.62V to 3.6V and is available in a 100-pin QFP package.
It is pin-to-pin compatible with the 100-pin version of the SAM3N.
