I have downloaded and extracted the linux-2.6.32.tar.bz2 and applied the 2.6.32-at91.patch.gz on the Linux source.
The original .config has been replaced with at91sam9260ek_defconfig

I get the following error when compiling the kernel:

What am I doing wrong?

Try examining the source on the lines reported. To understand if you have selected/defined some conflicting option for the build. Edit the code if you need to.

The patch inserts a code section for handling “Compact Flash / PCMCIA”, but this (at91_add_device_cf function) is already defined in the “CF/IDE” section in the at91sam9260_devices.c file.

Do I need to patch the kernel in order to run on an “Atmel AT91SAM9260-EK” CPU?

I am also trying to compile and it fails at the same place.
It is not clear for me if I just need the 2.6.32-at91.patch patch against the kernel.org or if an http://www.arm.linux.org.uk/ patch as to be applied instead or also?
