Hi,

I'm new to Linux development so please forgive the noobish questions.

I have the Linux4SAM demo working on my AT91SAM9RL-EK. I have a new board that I need to get the same demo working on. It's a similar design with the exception of a 800x480 display.

I have rebuilt the source for U-boot and the Linux Kernel and the display works perfectly but I am having some problems getting the touchscreen to work correctly with the new display size.

The full touchscreen works but it only works on the upper left corner of the screen in what looks like the size of the AT91SAM9RL-EK display. (240 x 320). I've looked through all of the related linux driver code and I'm unable to find anything that affects the touch screen area.

Perhaps I am looking in the wrong place but hopefully someone can tell me where the input device size is setup?

Hello,

Sorry for this trivial answer but as you said you are a beginner, did you calibrate your touchscreen ? I think you can use ts_calibrate.

Regards,

Ludovic

Thanks for your reply,

I am unable to run the calibration because the touchscreen is the only input method I have. I tried to run xtscal from the terminal through serial port but I get the message "Couldn't open display".

I am guessing that because X11 has control of the display I cannot run any graphical applications from the terminal.

Is there any other way that I can run xtscal?

Just to close this topic off and possibly help others in the future...

I created a script that ran xtscal, I put a symbolic link to it in the X11 directory "/etc/X11/Xinit.d". The calibration program then ran when X11 started.

Problem solved :)

Great.

It's a good news that it was a calibration problem.
