Hi All,

I have a strange problem on the USART0 (ttyS1) on sam9263 using KaeilOS distribution, on a EVB then I'm quite sure the HW is ok...
using a debug application running on user space, I can receive the characters on the serial port but I cannot trasmit, seems that the trasmission is not enabled.....is there any way to debug what is happening, maybe enabling kernel debug output?
any help or feedback is appreciate.
thanks
bob

Hi there

> I have a strange problem ...

Labeling your problem as "strange" is not helpful nor informative. I've encountered identical or similar issues almost every time I try to use a new serial port. And I've been doing this since the days when DB-25 was the standard serial port connector and 9600 baud was considered the fastest rate.

You have not reported how you have determined that the USART is not transmitting any characters. Presumably you are using a remote PC with some terminal emulator? How do you know for sure that this remote end can *receive* any transmitted characters? You need to get down to brass tacks and use an oscilloscope to view the actual transmit line. If there are characters, then the problem is on the receiving end. If there are no characters, then the problem is really on the AT91SAM end. At least the issue is bisected.

And please learn how to _not_ double post.

Regards
