 Post subject: weird behaviour with ifconfig

Hi,
I get a weird behaviour when i issue the following command
ifconfig eth0 192.168.1.100
Indeed, i have to press ENTER to get the prompt otherwise it hangs.
My board is based on atT91sam9260 processor and i use a 2-6-21 linux kernel.
any ideas ?
