Hi,
Currently I am working on interfacing RTC (DS1388) to AT91sam9260-EK. I have made the hardware changes required in AT91sam9260-EK. I have included one sample driver for this(in built not as module), but rtc file is not creating in /dev. So I wanted to know what all changes required for interfacing an rtc .

Hi there

Which kernel version are you using?

Release 2.6.22 already has drivers for an assortment of RTC chips. These devices belong to the RTC Class. There's more info in the source tree under /Documentation.

Have you enabled I2C controller? Have you enabled the corresponding RTC driver in kernel? Have you updated your board file (arch/arm/mach-at91/board-*.c) with the updated layout? What does the kernel messages(dmesg) say about your hw?
