Has anyone successfully gotten an IDE hard drive working on the AT91SAM9263-EK board via the J8 IDE connector?

I am running a 2.6.22 kernel with patches supplied by www.linux4sam.org. I have ATA/ATAPI/MFM/RLL support, enhanced IDE/MFM/RLL disk support, and generic/default IDE chipset support enabled. I get the following messages during bootup:

However, when I insert a Toshiba MK4006GAH 1.8" disk drive into connector J8, I don't receive any messages confirming that an IDE drive has been inserted/recognized.

Does IDE support hot plugging? Have you tried booting the device, with the IDE disk already attached?

I have indeed tried booting the AT91SAM9263-EK with the IDE disk already attached. I get the same behavior--no confirmation messages in dmesg and no device created in /dev.
