Hello,

I have created a jffs2 image for the NAND Flash with:

mkfs.jffs2 -d /exports/ -p -s 0x800 -e 0x20000 -n -l -o RFS.jffs2

Then NAND flash is a SAMSUNG K9F2G08U0M-PIB0

This is my RootFileSystem

My system boots from it...
Mounting the RFS works...

If I write data to the RFS: touch test.txt and make a reboot the message empty flash at [address] ends at [address]

This couldn´t be correct or am I wrong ?

Thank you

This is normal operation for JFFS2 NandFlash. When using JFFS2 there are some daemons that run which do garbage collection and tidy up the file system.
You will get the messages you see at boot time. If you leave your system running for a while you will find that the addresses change.

Don't panic, all is well!

Hello,

Thanks for reply....

So I mounted my RFS from a NANDFlash Partition.
Isn´t it right, that the complete content of my RFS is taken to RAM.

Because:

If I press the reset button, I got "errors" ath the next boot:
jffs2_notice (187) ... crc....
and one boot on:
empty flash at [address] ends at [address]

I think there is a constant access to the NAND flash ? Why ?

Are these error messages critical - will data be lost, or space wasted ?

Thank you very much

If you mount the Nand flash as your RFS then it is not copied to RAM. All accesses are to the Nand Flash. The messages you see are for information only and are not error messages.
I think that youor system is working OK.
