Hello folks,

I installed openembedded on my workstation and tried the freshly created
.jffs2 FS on my AT91SAM9263EK board over linux 2.6.24 kernel.
It worked fine and I had a running angstrom linux on my board.

Later I tried to mount the same filesystem(not the .jffs2 image) through NFS. I did all the necessary configurations to the required files and the filesystem was even mounted but after the following message the system was hanging

VFS: Mounted root (nfs filesystem).
Freeing init memory: 124K

Do I need to do some setting in the init.d directory or the fstab file :?:
Please provide some suggestion what should I do now.(I googled a lot but couldnt find some solution)

Thanks and regards
Devendra

You could do some kind of tracing on the server side (if your able to), by using tshark/wireshark or tcpdump.

This helped me a lot, checking what the client is trying to do over nfs.

hth.

Please provide your u-boot printenv and inittab file
usually it's a serial port wrong settings.

I've checked both u-boot settings and inittab - both are ok

In my case I was trying to mount the wrong rootfs on my board using nfs and thats why my system was hanging after

Quote:
VFS: Mounted root (nfs filesystem).
Freeing init memory: 124K

To rectify the problem I extracted the .tar image of my root-filesystem
to a folder and tried to mount it and it worked fine.

The .tar image is located at

tmp/deploy/glibc/images/at91sam9263ek/

U can try this it may work.
