Hello !

We have ported WinCE image using SAMBA V 2.8, following the steps given by you. After completion of the porting the image, we are having loading the image from flash. We are seeing the messages which will appear through Debug port (UART0). In that when we try to "launch flash resident image now" option by selecting "l', it is showing the following error:

>System ready!
Preparing for download...
OK
More than one error detected, unable to correct. Sector 8232
Read failed at sector 2028FMD_DirectRead Lasted 4969 ms for 0x158c800 bytes (timer granularity is 400)
Launching Windows CE image by jumping at address 0x2006d000

These are the sequence of lines shown after pressing 'l' in the debug window. After that it is getting restarted and asking for select an option. So what would this error mean"unable to correct sector". Please help us point the error and solve our problem.

Expecting an early reply .

Thanks,
Dhoresh.

Hi, Dhoresh,

This is a open forum, not a Adeneo support line. If you want help, please try to be more specific. What did you mean "ported"? Which steps did you do? Which BSP and WinCE versions are you using? Are you recompiling the DEMO project? Are you just loading DEMO binaries? Are you writing FIRSTBOOT, EBOOT and WinCE to NAND flash?

Hello Derek,

Thanks for your reply. I have just downloaded the WinCE demo files from atmel site.

http://www.atmel.com/dyn/resources/prod ... O_v1_1.zip

I am following the procedure given in the PPT of the above mentioned zip file. In that PPT, upto slide 10, there are no errors. When I am connecting my kit through Hyperterminal and selecting the options "l" (el) to launch the resident image it is showing the following error.

From the above point it is getting restarted. So please let me know anymore information is required.

Thanks,
Dhoresh.

Hi, Dhoresh

It seems that Eboot has problems loading the WinCE image from NAND flash. Do you have a Rev A or Rev B of AT91SAM9263 processor? Are you using the standard AT91SAM9263-EK reference board? Is there any error when programing NK.nb0? Did you modify the Eboot Image Flash Menu settings? Instructions are in install (AT91SAM9263-Rev.?).txt file.

Hello Derek,

Thank You Derek.

I am using Rev B processor. Also I am using AT91SAM9263-EK Reference board. There were no errors when I am using the files which are downloaded from ATMEL Site. I have not modified Eboot and I am using the install instructions related to Rev B.

But today i have downloaded image files from the following site as I got to know these are the updated files:

http://www.at91.com/windows4sam/bin/vie ... ingStarted

file name: windows4sam_wince_6.0_at91sam9263ek.zip

With that it is showing the following error in the SAMBA Log window when I am trying to download the Eboot.nb0.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So please help me out what could go wrong with my board. Is it related to hardware or software?

Thanks,
Dhoresh.

Hi, Dhoresh,

1) You must modify the Eboot flash menu setting before loading the WinCE image from NAND Flash. Follow the instructions from the text file or the powerpoint file.

2) I never run into this SAM-BA error. But SAM-BA comes with source code and you can explore it there.
