Hi guys,

we should soon start working on a project involving an AT91SAM. (Non-graphical interface communicating with the outside world; some serious cryptography.) We need to quickly decide whether we should go the WinCE or the Linux route.

I've looked around for threads of type "WinCE or Linux?" on this board (and, in general, using Google) but couldn't find anything. What is your recommendation? I see (based on the number of posts here and the number of total articles published on Linux / WinCE blogs) the Linux community is far more numerous than the WinCE one. I, however, have a fear that learning to program embedded Linux has a steeper learning curve and is not as well documented (for a newbie needing to get up to speed, that is) than WindowsCE. (We, of course, know both ANSI C and standard C++ but have never done any embedded programming.)

So - which route to go?

Thanks in advance for any answer!

(I cross-post the same message to the WinCE forum here.)
