Hello,

I'm trying to install the WinCE 5.0 V1.1 demo on the 9263-EK. So far I:

- downloaded the firstboot.nB0 to the dataflash
- downloaded the Eboot.nB0 to the dataflash
- downloaded the NK.nB0 to the nandFlash

after reseting the board I get the Eboot menu like in the tutorial. I then set the different parameters correctly. But then, when I launch the existing flash resident image, the board seems to reset every 30seconds. The RS232 message I get is copied here below. Just like the system resets (there is each time a "RomBoot") before launching completely from the nandFlash.

Does anyone have an idea of what could be the problem ?

Thanks very much,

Julien

Hello,

First of all which version of SAM-BA are you using? To be able to write in the Nandflash you have to use SAM-BA v2.5 or inferior version.

Then are you writing the new nandflash parameters in the bootloader menu?
After writing the NK.nb0 in the Nandflash you have to enter the nandflash menu in the bootloader (press n), and enter manually the new parameters (option 2).

You can find the parameters in the output windows of platform builder if you have built a new NK.nb0 or in the install.txt file if you are using the binary file from Atmel.

Kind Regards

HEllo,

I'm using Sam-Ba v2.7 (do I really have to use a former version ?).

I entered the flash parameters correctly into the bootloader (n and option 2).

Regards,

Julien

I tried to download nk.nb0 with Sam BA v2.4 and I get message errors in Samba : "# Bad Bloc Detected".

With Sam Ba v2.7 i could download, correctly I think, the nk.nb0 file.

What should I do ?

Thanks for your help

Julien

Hi,

The bad block management has changed with the version 2.6 of the SAM-BA software.
The current release of the BSP isn't compliant with the new bad block management that's why you can't load your image in the Nandflash with SAM-BA.

What you have to do is erase the whole nandflash with SAM-BA v2.4, it'll test again every block and set the status with the old bad block management.

After that you'll be able to load the binary in the nandflash.

Kind Regards,

Ok, so this is what I just did:

- reinstall of sam-ba v2.4
- erase the whole nand flash
- send the nk.nb0 file to nandflash...

And I still get bad block errors when downloading the file (from number 18 to ...). So, what should I try ?

Regards,

julien
