 Post subject: how to insert 32 bit data to 31 pin

hi all
i work on at91sam7x256
i need send 32 bit data to the port a but port a have 31 pin !!!
anybody can help me ?
I think we need 32 pin for this project.

port A has 32 pins (0, 1, 2, ..., 31)

(you forgot pin 0 :D )

Hi

The SAM7X has 2 x 31 bit ports (bit31 is not connected to any pin).

This means that to use 32 bits it is necessary to spread the bits across the two ports (eg. 16 bits on port A and 16 bits on port B). Accesses will require two reads/writes so will not be as fast as a port with full 32 bit width could be. Whether this is acceptable depends on your exact requirements.
