DO YOU KNOW,

if you put in the figures of the components of the Atmel SAM7 EVB then the tool will be complaining.

ONE of them MUST BE WRONG !!!

What do say?

Regards
Thomas

Well... it works :D

AT91SAM7XC256-EK
C1 = C26 = 10nF
C2 = C25 = 1nF
R1 = R5 = 1K5

XTAL = 18.432MHz

Core running on a whopping 96MHz...

Why can't I select from the full range of MUL and DIV values?

It looks like it's trying to be too clever and limit what I can choose to limit the output frequency, but it seems to be too restrictive.

I'm using the 'SAM7S and 'SAM7X with an 18.432 MHz crystal, and generating a 48MHz clock with MUL = 124 and DIV = 24, which as far as I know is legal (and it works), but this tool won't let me select these values...

Why?

Nick

It is not allowed because you are below the minimum input frequency of the PLL (refer to the datasheet).

Bertrand

Thanks, this was something that I'd overlooked.

As a suggestion.. perhaps as a means to highlight this, the tool should allow it, but pop up a warning, as it does when you select a MUL that exceeds the maximum system clock.

Cheers,

Nick
