Hi all.
Is the microcontroller that's used on the AT91EB40 the fastest(based on the ARM7TDMI core) chip used on an evaluation board ?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Best regards

Hi,
thank you for your answer.
I have one more question.
I saw that ATMEL have a network card with the CS8900A-CQ3.
In the AT91ETHER I use the CS8900A-CQ3, but I don't have an AT91EB40 in order to test the AT91ETHER with it.
So what I'm going to write is an assumption.
In order to use the CS8900A with the EB55 I need to insert a minimum of 5 wait states. With the AT91EB40 in theory I need a minimum of 10 wait states because the clock frequency of the EB40 is 66 MHz.
(The EB55 have a clock of 32 MHz).
My question is, since the EBI only allow to insert 8 wait states at the maximum, with the design that I have, I can't use the AT91ETHER with the EB40, is my assumption correct ?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Best regards

Hi Luis,

you are corret, the CS8900 cannot be used on a EB40A board when running @ 66MHz.

You can use the DAVICOM DM9000E, or the SMSC LAN911

Bye
