Hello, I am working on a project with the SAM3U1C, I have made my own PCB and just bypassed the demo board. The project involves USB mass storage and SD card, I am using a 2GB kingston and sandisk card and see the same issue. I got the default USB mass storage code running on my PCB with little effort (I only had to force the function that checks to see if the card is inserted since the slot I have does not have an inserted switch). I can see a 512MB card just fine, but when I try to use a 2GB it seems that only 1GB of it is recognized. `fdisk` in linux only shows 1GB, Windows shows 1.8G correctly, but when I format it and look at the properties it oddly shows me that 900M is used, and 900M is free even though its a completely empty disk. Has anyone else seen this issue at all or have I managed to mess something up? -Kris |

Followup: I got a hold of a 4GB SDHC, and that reported just fine, a 1GB works fine, and a 512MB works fine. My 2GB sd card is perfectly fine when used in generic USB-SD mass storage devices. Anyone experience this on the SAM3U-EK dev board? -Kris |

Would someone who has a SAM3U-EK board please load up the default code in the software package for a simple USB mass storage device and let me know if a 2GB SD card works. Thanks... -Kris |

Hi, I have a Samsung 2GB SD card in my SAM3U-EK right now. It seems to be fine; FAT32, Capacity = 2,025,861,120 bytes, 1.88 GB. I cannot remember how I formatted it. Whether it was in PC's SD slot or while the card was in the kit. Or whether it was under Windows or Linux. I am using the v1.1 Demo at the moment but it also worked fine with custom code I had loaded earlier today. The custom code was based on the 'simple USB mass storage' project. Sorry I can't download the actual/orginal project right now. Regards. |

Thanks for the info, I'll have to dig around in the code a bit I guess. -Kris |

I had the same problem with old 2GB sd cards: the were incorrectly enumerated as 1GB cards and where not accessible (one Sandisk an one Dikom micro sd with adapter). My demo version was 1.0. After installing demo version 1.1 the problem seems solved and the cards are correctly enumerated and accessible. I guess this could be related to this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SDHC#Stand ... B_capacity Could it be that the old demo was bulit with an sd access library that did non support this particular kind of old 2GB cards? Hope this helps, best regards. |

Hello, i use the SAM3u4e and i want also use the USB Example with the SD Card example together that the USB Drive which is mounted in Windows use the SD Card like a SD Card Reader. I tried it several time but it didn´t work. Now in the example code for the USB Mass Storage there is the internal Ram used and the USB Device is only 4 kb big. But i want use a 2 GB SD Card as Mass Storage. Can anybody help me and explain me where i must change the example code? Or can anybody show me an example code? thanks |
