Hi Guys,

I just received the sam3n-ek board and whilst trying to connect to SAM-BA it just hangs. I have it connected on COM1, choose SAM3n4-ek as board type. After i press connect, the window disappears and nothing comes up.

After i unplug the serial, i then get a window popping up say 'failed to initialize flash memory'.

Is this a bug in the board? or am i doing something wrong?

regards
Tony.

Hi,

Do you mean you have the sam3u4e?

If so you have to erase the board first using a jumper (JP1), first connect the jumper, power down and up the board, the dissconnect the jumper and reboot the board. I beleive SAM-BA doesn't program using the COM port on the board. It uses the USB port, which acts like a COM port after you erase the device. On my system it shows up as COM10, with a device name something like 'GPS camera'. Use this COM port and you should be fine.

Its a SAM3N4C. The board is SAM3N-EK.

It does not actually have a USB.
The getting started guide states to connect via a rs232 cable and select the appropriate COM port.

Im doing everything they say, but it just hangs, and displays nothing. Im currently running win7 32bit.

Board is connected to COM1 which is my motherboards RS232 port.

Im starting to think SAM-BA has issues with this Board. :(
