I've had zero luck getting any version of SAM-BA to connect with my AT91SAM9G45EK-ES development board using the USB cable (mini usb connector). Either no choices of board selection appear in the drop down window, the program window never opens after selecting the correct board type, or the computer blue screens! (windows XP). Running the Linux version of SAM-BA has either of the first two problems (Linux doesn't crash).
I have been able to get into the SAM-BA gui screen by using the SAM-ICE to connect to the board and selecting /jlink/jtag as the "com port". I've been able to erase the existing contents of the nand flash (the board no longer boots the LCD start up screen to select windows-ce or linux) and have been able to get the low level bootstrap onto the nand flash. I now get error messages on the debug com port but it fails to boot the pre-built linux kernel that I thought I flashed to the nand flash.
Has anybody used SAM-ICE and Sam-BA to flash a Linux system onto this board? What was the procedure you used? I tried running a shell script file if found that is supposed to automate this but the catch-22 is knowing when to plug JP10 in since it won't start sam-ba with the nand flash enabled, and you must enable the nand flash once in sam-ba to flash it.
