We have some units with AT91SAM7XC512 that suffer from flash programming problems.
Brief summary:
- SAM-BA v2.11 seems to have put these AT91SAM7XC512 chips in a state where the internal flash can no longer be programmed correctly with SAM-BA or EFC. The even DWORD addresses seem to have been programmed OK.
The contents of the odd addresses remain in erased state. (all contain 0xFFFFFFFF)
The attached picture shows the situation of flash memory. During the programming itself no errors are reported by SAM-BA.
- The problem occurs with some AT91SAM7XC512 chips, not with all. Up till now we have encountered this problem with two different chips.
- Chip version and EFC version of all chips (good and bad) are identical.
- Once in this state, programming flash via SAM-ICE (JTAG) en Insight Debugger still seems to work OK. However, self-programming using EFC no longer works.
- The only way to get a chip out of this state seems by re-programming the chip using an elder version of SAM-BA; v2.9.
However, because of the lack of proper USB (CDC) and 64-bit Windows support in SAM-BA v2.9 we are bound to SAM-BA v2.11...

Anybody experienced the same problems?

File comment: Here you can see that only half of flash is programmed - other half remains in erased state...
