Are there any significant changes in SAM-BA 2.7 impacting performance or speed of flash writing such that we need to make the change from SAM-BA 2.6 ?

Any new faster flash programming algorithms in SAM-BA 2.7 ? The README for SAM-BA 2.7 mentions newer flash programming applets.
