I am teaching myself all about the ARM.
I have run into troubles in understanding how interrupts work.

How can I program interrupts in assembly so that when I press a switch I can light a LED?

(The Lighting a LED part is not so much of a problem...
I am more concerned with programming interrupts...)

Just one question, do you have seen the free on-line training on this Site ?
There are some informations about this topic.
Another thing, you can download the AT91 Software Library from the Atmel Web Site: This one embeds some examples and interrupt handler in assembler.
At processor level, the interrupt is working like other, but the only one IRQ line to the ARM7 processor compeles the AIC to manage several interrupt source at embedded system level. It is for this reason you have to understand the AIC System Peripheral. This point is explained in the on-line Training. Click on http://www.at91.com/www/trainings/index.php , and go ahead
