I am running the IAR tools / Atmel SAM-ICE with the AT91SAM9261-EK board and their BasicLCD sample works just fine. It even loads it into serial data flash using the Flash configuration. However this project is configured to run out of iRAM (internal 160K SRAM), and the SAM-BA built into the 9261 copies the code from dataflash to iRAM and executes. My code is bigger, so I need a second level boot and a project configured for SDRAM. I can muddle thorugh this (don't have much IAR experience), but I was wondering if anyone else out there has done this already.

Thanks,

Jonathan More

I have no solution to this problem but even more questions:

I do not even get the AT91SAM9261-BasicLCD-IAR4_11A-1_0 sample up and running. If I use IAR 4.11 (as the samples filename suggests), it'll tell me that it can not load the project.

Version 4.31A of the IAR Toolchain can load and translate the project, but when I try to download it via J-LINK, I get some error messages telling me about problems with the SAM9_RAM.max file:

Sun Jul 02 21:38:17 2006: Error in F:\Daten\Software\Programmierung\Beispiele\AT91SAM9261\AT91SAM9261-BasicLCD-IAR4_11A-1_0\AT91SAM9261-BasicLCD\compil\resource\SAM9_RAM.mac at line 145, col 19: Operation error.

...

Are there anywhere correct versions of these scripts available or is IAR 4.31 not capable of downloading to the SAM9261 via J-Link?

Rgds,
Sven

The project that worked sucessfully for me under WARM 4.40 was the BasicLCD example that was installed with the IAR tools.
