Hi, we are in the last part of our project, testing the prototipe of our AT91RM9200 based desing, at this point we are only testing the ARM and the DBGU port waiting for "CCCCCC" but it does not work, on our design we use the schematic of the AT91RM9200-EK for the prototipe obiusly we did some changes on the schematic but the part of the RM9200 and the DBGU port is the same, we only want to know if the microcontroller is working, does the RM9200 need something else to do this thest? like a flash memory or RAM?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Jesus,

I am not an expert on this, but just throwing some ideas out, ok?

Have you checked that the 32KHz crystal is oscillating? If it is not, you need to make sure TST0/TST1 are connected to GND.

Make sure the BMS=1.

Check voltage levels around the part.

Check to make sure NRST is held low for 1 second at startup.

Check the signals coming from the chip to the RS-232 chip - sometimes the 232 chip is setup wrong or does not work (I had a horrible time with an ST part once, three failed :) ).

Good Luck!

Hi,

if you are using dataflash you might run into problems, if there's nothing useful in the exception vector table. Connecting the CS line for the dataflash to GND while applying power will bypass booting from dataflash and you will get the CCCCs from the XMODEM download.

Regards,
Mike
