 Post subject: MTD management for new Flash part.

Location: Florence.
Lately I modified the u-boot utility shipped with AT91RM9200-EK in order to access and program the AT49BV622D Flash EPROM .
This chip has the very same memory layout of the original Atmel AT49BV642D part.
However when I try to use the Linux 2.4 MTD drivers in order to erase the new device,

eraseall /dev/mtd/2
eraseall: /dev/mtd/2: Permission denied

the O.S. refuses...

Why ?
Some files are to changed in the Kernel ?
