I tried to use the board's search function, but I didn't find any up-to-date informations. So I hope you can help me.

I am planing to build an environment for "playing" with my electronic gitar's output signal. Til now, I just used Atmels bit RISC µC for my curcuits, but now I need some more calculating power, so that I decided to use an ARM µC. Now my questions:

- I have both, an Atmel ISP and an Atmel JTAG for the 8bit RISC µC. Can I use these with the AT91SAM series controllers? Must I have special debugging tools? Is there any "cheap to rebuild" curcuit for programming At91 µC?

- I am dreaming of the AT91SAM9260 with 180MHz to calculate my desired filters. The on-chip card interface and USB or Ethernet devices are going to be used to, but therefore I don't need 208 pins. Is there any other CPU with such a calcuation power which is better to solder into my curcuit (I soldered an Atmel Mega128 with success, but I think I won't be able to go any smaller...)

- Does anybody know which is the best supported hardware? (According to JTAGing, compilers, ...)
