hi,
I have a marvell 8686 SDIO wifi card.I also have an AT91SAM9260 Eval kit.The controller AT91SAM9260 supports SDIO interface. The eval kit also has a SD/MMC card interface.

I would like to know whether i can directly slide in the SDIO wifi card to the SDIO interface of the evalkit and make it to work ? without any modification to the eval kit ?

Will the AT91SAM9260 eval kit detect the SDIO wifi card ?

Did anybody has ever done some research to integrate a wifi SDIO card support to AT91SAM9260 ?

We have a running arm linux kernel for AT91SAM9260-EK.Now we are planning to run a application with wifi connectivity.

So any help on the hardware setup will be useful to me.

Regards,
Ram

Have you had any luck? I'm facing the exact same problem. I've got an SDIO 8686 that I'd like to use with the 9623-EK.

My steps so far were to recompile the linux kernel with the Marvell Libertas SDIO driver. When I power up the board and insert the car I can find no evidence that anything is recognized. No syslog messages or anything. I'm not sure where to go from here.

I know the wifi card as I've used it in a Windows PC that has and SDIO port.

I got WIFI (SDIO 8686) working on AT91SAM9260 EK board. But the performance (download/upload files) is really worse: only around 800K/second when working on 802.11b mode.
There is an issue of current MMC/SD driver. You have to fix module 4 problem of AT91SAAM9260. (http://www.spinics.net/lists/arm-kernel/msg46060.html). Once libertas driver download firmware, you can use iwconfig tools to configure wifi parameters.

hi,
Thanks for the reply. But did u do any modification to the AT91SAM9260 eval kit.I have removed the R42 resistor since my kernel is able to detect the SDIO wifi card only after removing.....

I have applied the patch what you have suggested.....but my kernel is still not able to download the firmware ?

The error message what i get is.....

.libertas: can't load helper firmware
libertas: failed to load helper firmware
libertas_sdio: probe of mmc0:0001:1 failed with error -2

Did u encounter this error....If so how did u solve it....

Please guide me to solve this error.....

Regards,
Ram
