Following the directions in "gettting started" (Below) doesn't work.
I checked the jumpers, but the LED does not turn on.
What should I try?
I have two BRAND NEW boards. Both the same.

---------------- snip begin ----------------
Check J2 (3.3V Board current), J6 (VDDPLL+VDDOSC) and J12 (VDDCORE) are closed,
Check J7 (BMS) is open,
Check J9 (OSC selector) is on 2-3 position,
Supply the board via the provided power supply (J1),
LED DS1 (power supply) must switch on,
The on-board user interface is now checked.
---------------- snip end ----------------

Following this "AT91SAM9260_EK Linux Demo" (see below) doesn't work either.
I installed v1.12.
It doesn't say what speed, etc to select for hyperterm
The bat file produces this output:

---
-I- Waiting ...
-E- Connection \usb\ARM0 not found
-E- Connection list : COM3 COM6
----

---------------- AT91SAM9260_EK Linux Demo BEGIN----------------
install AT91-ISP v1.7
Unzip demo_linux_at91sam9260.zip file in a new folder
Connect a USB cable on the board
Connect a serial link on DBGU connector and open an HyperTerminal program for the associated COM port
Power-up the board
Launch AT91SAM9260_demo_linux_DataFlash.bat for demo on Data Flash
Launch AT91SAM9260_demo_linux_NandFlash.bat for demo on Nand Flash
When the programmation log file appears, make a reset on the board and look at the HyperTerminal
---------------- AT91SAM9260_EK Linux Demo END----------------

Basically the demos don't work straight out of the box, it's a little more complicated than that. Also, some of the script commands have been removed in sam-ba and so the nand demo doesn't work at all.

Do you get to the romboot command in the debug port? If not, then you may have flashed your dataflash with bad code and if so you need to follow the help stuff at Atmel to get round the probs (and you won't get sam-ba over the usb).

Personally, I put a switch on instead of R40 so that I can always get round the problem.

I did install J3 which lights the LED and gives me the <romBOOT prompt on the debug port. (DOH!)

Now, my PC recognizes that the usb cable is connected to the eval board (and calls it COM7)

But when I start SAM-BA, it doesn't give me COM7 as a choice for connection. It gives me no choices at all, So no connection is made.

I'm going to try another PC again to see if it will connect.

Thanks
