I've swapped the NAND part on my AT91SAM9260-EK board for a Micron 512MB part. I've successfully rebuilt the bootloader with the new NAND ID placed in the nand_ids.h file. When placing the bootloader and u-boot in the Atmel serial data flash everything works fine on initial bootup. However, if I cycle the power u-boot no longer recognizes the correct NAND part and I get an error "Bad block table not found for chip 0"

Do I need to rebuild u-boot? And if so what should I change? I've been through the 1.1.5 release and for the life of me I cannot figure out where there are NAND specific settings. Are there IDs similar to the bootloader? I figured u-boot would be able to self-identify the NAND part but I guess not.

thanks!

I was seeing the same power cycle issue. Eventually it would fall thru and try to boot linux, but it would find a truckload of bad eraseblocks. Updating to the latest u-boot fixes this error in u-boot, but linux still panics with too many bad eraseblocks. Have you gotten anywhere?

No, I gave up on the Micron part and just repopulated the Samsung part on the board.

We skipped the EVB and went straight to our own design, that was one part we could not determine. What is the part number that is used on the EVal Board? Thanks for your help.

yeah, that's sort of a bummer. We used the AT91SAM9260-EK board. BOM can be found here
