Hi all, I'm new to this forum so please bear with me. I recently purchased an AT91SAM9263-EK development kit, inserted in the backup battery and then powered it up, and I can see the nice pics flashing back and forth. Now I'm trying to program the board, with a different test code that I found in the softpack-1.4-at91sam9263-ek-web.
My problem lies when I try to connect the dev kit to my pc (running Windows XP) either with the rs232 connector or USB (but not both at the same time) nothing happens.
I tried to follow the getting started guide but when I try to use SAM-BA to connect it just tells me invalid processor ID. I tried connecting the rs232 to both the COM port and to the debug port, and I can't see anything on hyperterminal.

I think I might have to remove or add a jumper something, but there is no real details on that, unless I missed it :(

Does anyone know why it wouldn't connect? Does anyhow have a step by step guide on setting up the board to be programmed or atleast know of a better one than atmels own?

Also in regards to the compiling code part, I installed the jre latest update, then installed Eclipse, then did the Zylin Embedded CDT plugin as shown here: http://www.yagarto.de/howto/yagarto2/in ... l#download.

Whats your opinion on eclipse? Is it easy to use? Is there a better software for the AT91sam9263's?

Thank you in advance, sorry for all the noob questions, but I would figure a development kit, would come with a little more info.

Thank you,

Bootloadernoob

Okay I got some help from Atmels tech support, for anyone else starting out, you need to set your jumpers like this:

J2 - CLOSED
J21 - CLOSED
J16 - CLOSED
(1V2, VDDCORE) - CLOSED
(VBACKUP,VDDBU) - CLOSED
(GND,NTRST) - OPEN
(LOGIC 0, BMS) - OPEN
(3V3, VDD IOM1) - CLOSED
(3V3, VDD IOM0) - CLOSED
(3V3, VDD IOP1) - CLOSED
(3V3, VDD IOP0) - CLOSED
(3V3, VDDOSC) - CLOSED
J29 - OPEN

J25 P10 - OPEN
J24 P10 - OPEN

Once you power it up and connect the USB cable, it will ask for drivers there located: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\atm6124.sys for windows XP. Then you should be able to open up SAMBA and do what ever you need to do.
