Post subject:  AT91SAM9G20 - Which parts can be left unused and unpowered?

Hi!

I am new to the AT91SAM9G20. Now I read everything I could find about the processor but I couldn't find an answer to the following:

Because our board space is very low, we wan't to safe as much parts as possible. Since we don't need the ADC in our application, as with USB, we thought about not connecting the corresponding power pins. This would safe a few components. But will the processor still work? In the pin checklist it says about VDDANA "Powers the Analog to Digital Converter and some PIOC lines." So I woul think that by not connecting VDDANA, I can not use the ADC. But are the PIOC Lines (I suspect the ones multiplexed with ADC) completely unusable or is just the ADC not usable?

Another part is the battery backup. I think it is possible to connect VDDBU to VDDCORE and leave SHDN and Wake up unconnected. My processor would then not turn off the DC/DCs and could not be woken up via the pin, but I could still use the internal wakeup methods. Is this correct?
Here I am also curious about wake up on lan. Is it possible to use it somehow with the AT91SAM9G20?

Last part is the 32,768kHz external crystal. As far as I understand I can use the internal RC part. When does this become critical for my application?

Are there any other parts that might be safed in a layout?

Do I have to take any precautions on the pins I don't want to use?

Thanks for your help.

Best regards.
