Post subject:  SAM9 kernel sources; Github vs. Linux4SAM

Hi all,

Does anyone know what the difference is between the patch sets on the Linux4SAM site and the code on Github? I've diffed the 2.6.30 versions, and I can't figure out how they correspond. It does not appear that there is a direct equivalence between the linux-2.6-at91 kernel on Github and the vanilla kernel plus either the "AT91 Maintainer" or "Experimental" patch sets for the 2.6.30 kernel.

Github: https://github.com/at91linux/linux-2.6-at91
Linux4SAM: http://www.at91.com/linux4sam/bin/view/ ... inuxKernel

Is the Github tree official or just some random person trying to be helpful?

EDIT: By a little googling, I have been able to deduce that Nicolas Ferre of Atmel is pushing to the Github tree. It's still not obvious to me how the two releases (Linux4SAM and Github) correspond.

Got a response from Nicolas Ferre about the Github site:

From what I can tell, the master branch of the at91-linux git repository on Github is actually just the vanilla kernel. (I am certain of this for 2.6.35, at least.) The other branches contain the patches that Nicolas is in the process of sending to Russell King and Linus.
