Using a single chip SDRAM solution here, but a different Micron one.
You should be able to use quite a few different ones, as you can program the rows, columns, banks, and timing into the SDRAM controller. I would imagine the smaller, older, parts are going to become more difficult to source moving forward.
If you change the geometry/timing of the part, you have to update AT91BootStrap, or whatever, to get the initial configuration done. Note uBoot and Linux don't adjust this, but you may have to alter memory size parameters.
