Hello, i developed a custom board based on at91sam9260-ek. OSCSEL to 1.8V.

I just cant get "RomBoot", and i dont see oscillation on 32.768 crystal.
Do i need JTAG connection and initialize for the first time use the AT91SAM9260 ?
why i cant see oscillation on the crystal ?

Thank you.

Depending on the BMS pin it will either execute from the internal ROM or an external NOR device.

You shouldn't need to program anything for the board to start. BootROM will check the NAND, DataFlash, etc for bootable code. A blank flash device will drop you into SAM-BA mode.

If the power doesn't sequence properly, and the oscillators do not start, nothing is going to function, being synchronous and all.

Yes, you're right.
but the slow clock oscillator should be running despite the boot sequence, doesnt it ?

Well it probably depends on power supplies, and resets, along with the electrical properties of the attached components.

I'd start by looking at all of the supplies, and crawling over the schematic, but I don't have much to work with here.

Check the components around the oscillator, and that the parts meet the loading requirements.

Compare and contrast the behaviour against a known working design (AT91SAM9260-EK).
