Hello,

Did anyone experienced the use of Mobile SDRAM with the AT91RM9200 ?

Apparently the great difference for the SW is that there is a second configuration register called extended mode register, accessed the same way than the mode register but with BA1=1 instead of BA1=0.

I don't know if it's possible to do this by using the "load mode register" command of the SDRAM controller with a great offset (for instance with a 128Mbit SDRAM and 32 bits bus, setting A24 high)

Maybe people at Atmel know what is done exactly by the SDRAM controller ? Else I'll have to use my favorite logic analyser on my eval board :(

AT91RM9200 SDRAM Controller does not support Mobile SDRAM.

Is it possible to use Mobile SDRAM as normal SDRAM (Keep Extended register as default value)?

Hello,

it works but ...
in my application I only needed Mobile SDRAM because the BGA package is very small.
But it is impossible to write to the extended mode register. So there is no hope to use Mobile SDRAM to reduce standby power, for example :(
Atmel people confirmed me something I observed with a logic analyzer : in theory it is possible to write any value to the configuration register but in fact, only one value (0x80<<2(CAS lat = 2, no burst)) is hardwired into the controller.
