Hi guys,

Is there anyone know how to connect a backup battery to 9200 to keep RTC running while power is down?

Hi John,

The current comsumption of the ARM920T core is 1.7 milliamps in standby. This is big. There would be alot of circuits to detect and switch to battery power, and then recharge the battery if necessary.

A suggestion is to connect an external RTC like Dallas DS1338 and use a supercap. TWI bus can be used to keep the internal and external RTC synchronized. Supercap can easily discharge and recharge to maintain time of day.

Regards,
Mark
