Hi,
I'm designing an board with at91rm9200 µC refering
AT91RM9200DK schematics. But I heard from internet that there is a bug in
the AT91RM9200DK compactflash schematics.
I checked the schematics and datasheet but I'm not sure about what they said.

Thanks by advance

Hi,

actually the CompactFlash interface on the RM9200DK does not support all
CF Card Modes.

We've found an issue with the AT91RM9200-DK CompactFlash Interface regarding IO Mode read accesses.

The direction command of the AT91RM9200 data bus buffers (MN8: D[15:0]<-> DB[15:0]) is not compatible with a read access in CompactFlash IO Mode.

In the present design, this command is effective in case of a read access (NRD/NOE assertion), a CompactFlash Memory Mode read access (CFOE assertion) but not in case of a CompactFlash IO Mode read access (CFIOR assertion).

A correct design should have been:
- to connect the AT91RM9200 data bus (D[15:0] in place of DB[15:0])directly to the CompactFlash buffers (MN18A, MN18B) (3 loads on the
AT91RM9200 data bus instead of 2 loads today) or
- to drive the AT91RM9200 data bus buffer's direction input with a decoded signal taking into account CFIOR (like NRD/NOE/CFOE & (
NCS4/CFCS/PC10 # NWR1/NBS1/CFIOR ) ).

Regards,
