I was wondering how is possible to change netwotk settings (gateway, IP assegned dyn or not, DHCP,...) from my application.
I suppose that one method is to write to the keys of the registry that store these settings....
... but, is there any API to change these settings in a cleaner way?

And moreover: if I use the registry road, the effect is immediate ? I mean, the new values should be read again in some way by the network service, from the registry?

I'm currently using CE6, with the AT91SAM9261

thanks in advance
cheers

Hello,

There are some functions to temporary change the IP Address:
GetIpAddrTable(...) http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa365949(VS.85).aspx
AddIPAddress(...) http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa365801(VS.85).aspx
DeleteIPAddress(...) http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa365875(VS.85).aspx

If you use the registry configuration you will need to reboot to apply the modification but according to your hive settings it can be permanent.

I have a similar problem with the network setting. If I modify manually the network parameters, the next reboot loose the parameters and starts with the DHCP client enable.
How I can store in a non volatile memory the network setting?
thanks
bob
