Hi Guys, I am quite new to linux and to arm cores. I have been able to implement a timer before on an arm chip directly, but I now have a system with embedded linux on my AT91SAM9260 and so I believe I need to map certain things from memory into userspace? Could someone confirm if this is correct? Also does anyone know where I could find some sample code that would enable a timer on the ARM chip, but an "embedded linux" version?
Thanks for your help.

With LINUX you should use the built-in timer support rather than direct access to the HW. Otherwise you need to deal with kernel-mode drivers, protection issues and such. There are a couple of threads in this forum from Jan 28th talking about timers on AT91 that should point you in the right direction.
