Kernel compile error "read-only variable '__r2'..."

Tue Oct 24, 2006 5:59 pm

Hi everybody, I'm trying to compile a kernel for the AT91SAM9261-ek board. I'm using the codesourcery toolchain and the 2.6.15-rc1-dev kernel. When I try to build it I get the following error. Any suggestions? Thanks, Matt.

Code: Select all

CC arch/arm/mm/alignment.o
arch/arm/mm/alignment.c: In function 'proc_alignment_write':
arch/arm/mm/alignment.c:119: error: read-only variable '__r2' used as 'asm' output
arch/arm/mm/alignment.c:119: error: read-only variable '__r2' used as 'asm' output
arch/arm/mm/alignment.c:119: error: read-only variable '__r2' used as 'asm' output
arch/arm/mm/alignment.c:119: error: read-only variable '__r2' used as 'asm' output
make[1]: *** [arch/arm/mm/alignment.o] Error 1
make: *** [arch/arm/mm] Error 2
