Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on

Hi All,

I am facing an issue of kernel panic. I am using u-boot and trying to mount the rootfs(from buildroot) on the ram but it always fails. I am not sure what is the issue. Below is my log. I do appreciate the help.

If your RFS is JFFS2, you are missing the rootfstype=jffs2 parameter in the bootcmd line of your uboot config. The kernel only auto detects ext2, cramfs, msdos, and vfat RFS types.

Hi,

I have tried to pass the argument of "rootfstype=jffs2" but still failed. I am not sure what is the reason.

Hi,

I was wondering is it possible that the linux kernel does not support JFFS mounting on ram?
From the log "JFFS2 version 2.2. (NAND) (SUMMARY) © 2001-2006 Red Hat, Inc.", it seems to be for nand.
