SAM4S Xplained Pro Question

Wed Apr 23, 2014 10:55 pm

Not sure how I did it. But the SAM4S board is now stuck in bootloader mode and can't be recognized as a debug device. Did I erase the debugger code? I have searched high and low for how to restore the board to normal. Nothing. I can't find how this board is programmed once it's in bootloader mode or even what it means beyond LED signalling.

Thanks.

From a Atmel service ticket response. THIS WORKS.

Usually firmware upgrade from Atmel Studio should have been succeeded. If it fails for any reason, Manual firmware upgrade should succeed.

Manual firmware upgrade can be done from the command prompt.

Reconnect the Xplained PRO kit to the PC. Once PC detects the board, try the following.

Please go to Installation path (atbackend backend folder in Atmel Studio 6.2 Installation folder) in the command prompt and try the following command.

Eg: If Atmel Studio installed in default location,

C:\Program Files (x86)\Atmel\Atmel Studio 6.2\atbackend>atfw.exe -a ../tools/EDBG/edbg_fw.zip -t edbg

Return to “SAM9-based”
