U-boot mkimage multi Image file

Thu Mar 03, 2005 3:38 pm

Hello,
I want to make an image, with U-boot 1.1.2, Kernel 2.6.11rcx and ramdisk for my AT91RM9200EK board. I want to store the Images in the onboard and in the external data-flash.
First I tried a Image with only Kernel and ramdisk.
my command was:

Code: Select all

mkimage -A arm -O linux -T multi -C none -n 'my Image Title' -a 0x20008000 -e 0x20008000 -d linux.bin:ram_image multi_image.img
When I tried to boot the Kernel it found no ramdisk.

Does anybody knows the correct header sizes.

What abaut U-boot at the beginning of the Image, there shouldn't be a header, right?

I want to built an image like it is distributed from Atmel for my Evaluation Kit

any help would be great
bve

Hi,
You don't need to make a muti image.
You'd better make a kernel image with u-boot and make a ramdisk alone.
You can put kernel and ramdisk anywhere you want.
