How to change 32bit SDRAM to 16bit on 9260EK, with WINCE6?

I want to design a board based on 9260EK. For minimize the board size, I want to use only 1 chip SDRAM(MT48LC32M16A2, 32M*16bit) other than the original (MT48LC16M16A2, 16M*16bit *2chip).

Do I need to modify the FIRSTBOOT_NAND.nb0?(I use NAND flash to boot )
Or do I need to modify the EBoot?
Or do I need to modify the WINCE BSP?

Going to be in FirstBoot, the equivalent to AT91BootStrap for Linux. On the 9260 this will be a small 4KB loader which resides in block 0 of NAND, runs in SRAM, and configures the geometry of the SDRAM (ie chip rows, columns, timing and bus width), before loading the next stage into SDRAM.

Isn't the 9260 a bit old for a new design?
