SAM3U UART PMC

Mon Oct 18, 2010 2:35 pm

Trying to get the UART working on some code I'm porting from SAM7 to SAM3, and I spotted something odd in the data sheet. In Section 11.1 of the data sheet, it says the PID of the UART is 8.
In Section 34.3.2 it says "... the programmer must first configure the PMC to enable the UART clock. Usually, the peripheral identifier used for this purpose is 1."

Can anyone tell me if this is just a typo, or do I really have to set bit 1 in REG_PMC_PCER? And what do they mean by usually?

(My code doesn't work yet either way, so something else must be wrong, but that's a different question. My question here is just about the clock.)

Hi,

Yes you are right. It is a typo.

"Usually, the peripheral identifier used for this purpose is 1" : It is a wrong statement.

UART PID is 8.

Thanks. I thought it seemed odd.
