SAMBA Error: No Valid Processor ID Found

Thu Mar 29, 2007 8:50 am

we are working on AT91SAM9260-EK Board. But we are facing problem while using SAMBA application program.

we have connected the board through DBGU port .Then we launched the SAMBA application. After this we got the Dilog Box for selecting the Board.

we selected AT91SAM9260-Ek and COM1 port then we presses connect Toolbar. After doing this we have ""No Valid Processor ID Found"" Error.

Can u please suggest wht to do for this error?

Advanced thanx..

first soultion is

1)When you put a bad code in dataflash or nandflash, ROM boot thinks that a valid code is present and try to execute it and consequently ROMBOOT doesn’t execute the connection trials with PC.
To recover the normal behaviour, we implement in bootstrap a recovery mean that consist to press BP4 and in the same time reset.
After that the connection shoud be available.

If this method doesn’t work, you have to take control on CPU either with JTAG ice probe or by freezing (at level one) the dataflash chip select. For this latter action on J24 board connector connect together pin11 and pin35, switch on the board connect to PC with AT91-ISP, and when connection is established remove the wire between pin11 and pin35.

Keep in mind that if a serial cable is connected to PC, it is not possible to connect via USB with SAMBA boot.

hi aravind,

there is no problem if we connect serial cable while talking to SAMBA via USB. Because as per the boot code first it detects the USB and if it finds USB then SAMBA tries to talk with USB.
