AT91sam7s64 programming

Wed Jan 16, 2008 9:01 am

Hi,
I am a newbie in the sam7s chips and using sam7264 as a starting point.
My board is ready and the programmer is a wiggler clone .I am using the linux version of the software programmer found at this address
http://kjell.e.andersen.googlepages.com/

In root, when ever I click on "Check" the program prompts "unable to stop device"
I belive the problem lies in the fact that the wiggler is unable to pull low the reset pin of the device.
Has anyone used this utility and encountered such an issue? Is there a basic hardware configuration of the above device that I need to abide by?Certain pin levels, power, crystal etc?
Please let me know..
Thanks
Rupin

hello,
i would recommend openocd as programmer/debugger software, which works perfect with a wiggler clone.
you can find the binaries and some more information under the following link:

The interface works fine

Hi.
Thanks for the help gerhard.
I just found that if the pull-up resistors are ommitted, then the home-brewn interface will not work.
Connect 100k pull up resistors to TMS,TCK,TDI solves problems

Thanks again

Hi Rupin,

before I built my own board I took a look to other development boards (www.olimex.com). There you can find a 47k pull-up at all JTAG Pins:

TDI,TCK,TMS and TDO.

TDO as Data Output has no own pull-up. Don't know if this is important for your JTAG Interface, just want to mention this.

HTH,
Gerd
