Logging on As root to SAMA5D31-EK - Android

Has anyone successfully logged on to a SAMA5D31-EK board with Android? If so can you kindly share the steps. I have followed with following two guidelines without any success.
I do understand the links above are for Linux systems, but I think it should be the same for android too.

Wouldn't it be more practical if you actually mentioned/described the issue(s) you are having, rather than ask for yet-another tutorial that might gloss-over what you need?

Here are the steps I followed. The host OS is Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. These steps worked with the stock OS that came with the board. But after the board was update to Android it doesn't seem to work.
  • Start minicom on host machine as root:# sudo minicom -o -s -w
    Select serial port setup option
    Select serial port /dev/ttyACM0
    Set baud rate to 115200
    Set Hardware flow control to No
    Set Software flow control to No
    Press Enter and then press Esc to exit the menu.
    Reset the board, and wait for a moment
I was expecting to see command prompt, but nothing showed up.

BTW I can connect to the board with adb.

I don't have any good ideas.
Make sure JP16 on the main board is open.
You might try different settings of JP15 on the main board.
Look at the system log (the `dmesg` command) to see if USB errors are reported or more than one serial port device is created.
Get a 'scope and check for TTL activity on the upstream side of R132 on the main board; this is the TxD signal of the DBGU port.

If you get desperate, then J8, the DB9 connector for USART1, can be rewired for DBGU, the serial console port. Zero Ohm resistors R28 and R31 should be moved to R132 and R133. This would bypass the "RS-232 via USB CDC" with a straight-forward EIA/RS-232 circuit.

Thank you for the response. I was able to get connection to board using adb. Therefore by executing
sudo ./adb shell
I was able to access the unix prompt. In this case Android has be up and running.

For now this works.

I still like to access be able to open port so I can monitor the load process. I am able to do this with the TI - Sitara Starter kit.

Anyhow thanks for your help.
