Open-source hardware is very popular project over the world, like RPI, Arduino and BB Black. THe more and more makers prefer to open-source board. Under this kind of situation, Embest is as Strategy Alliance(SA) partner with Atmel, got the chance to design one board based on Cortex-A5 as Atmel official evaluation board Named SAMA5D3 Xplained. Compared the tranditional image of Atmel board, this board is based on ARM Cortex-A5 structure, CPU speed is highly to 536MHz. In this case, it is still under low power and focus on industrial application. Small size 12.5 x 7.5 x 2cm, 10 layer board, compatiable to Arduino, all info reflects Atmel are positve to dominate market of open-source. Let's move on for the specified spec of this magic board.
SAMA5D36 (324-ball BGA package) ARM Cortex-A5 Processor with ARM v7-A Thumb2® instruction set, core frequency up to 536 MHz.

32.768-kHz crystal oscillator

2x 1Gb DDR2 (16M x 16 bits x 8 banks)

On-board optional power Cap for CMOS backup

User interface:
Reset, wakeup and free user pushbutton
One red user/power LED and one blue user LEDSD/MMC:

5V from USB or power jack or Arduino shield
On-board power regulation is performed by a Power Management
Unit (PMU)
