I am working with the SAMA5D3 Xplained.
Does SAMA5D3 Xplained support USB OTG through it micro USB port if its powered using the 5v barrel connector.
I am using kernel linux4sam(linux-3.15-at91 branch from git hub :https://github.com/linux4sam/linux-at91 ... -3.15-at91).I have see your application notes (atmel_11201_usb-otg-like-connector-implementation_sam9g-sam9x-sama5d3_application-note) but this for kernel 2.6.9 and i believe the driver has been modified after that. Is is possible to do the same with the newer linux4sam (linux-3.15-at91)?.

hi, i have the same question. want to use the sama5d3 as client, but i do not see anything in kernel messages (neither on laptop, nor on sama5d3) if plugging in OTG client cable.

Hi!
You should check usb gadget - this is kernel support for usb in device mode.

hi, thanks for your response.

activated the USB gadget in kernel config already (using the serial com gadget for first try).

but nothing is happening.

I think that the port USBA is running in HOST mode on my machine and I do not see anything therefore.

Read inside the datasheet, that the multiplexer for the USBA PHY must be configured in some USB register. I will try next week.

a quick note.

I just received my XPlained board. there USBA seems to be set to device mode by default.

Worked on a SAMA5D33EK before, where this seems to be different. I will continue to check.
